They are morons who believed crap they read on the internet about not having to obey laws or pay taxes as long as they label themselves as sovereign citizens. It's a bunch of complicated made up bull with fake legal jargon thrown in to convince idiots. For example, they often quote the Articles of Confederation or Maritime Admiralty laws in their own defense, this NEVER fucking works and they always get booked by the police. They think that if they renounce their citizenship or whatever other bs they come up with, they don't have to follow the law.

Obviously, law enforcement and whatnot can't deport these morons because they are actual citizens. They can be thrown in jail, but then they go right back at it. Often times due to a congested legal system, their prosecution is overlooked and they think that their bullshit is what got them out of trouble so they keep right back at it.

My personal experience with them was in a car accident with them. I had a liability only insurance policy with my car at the time and this dickweed ran a stop sign and T boned my car. Woop dee doo, he had no license, no insurance, and because my policy was liability only, I was fucked. I called the police and they booked him because he had a warrant for failure to appear in court and towed his car for driving without a license and proper plates, but I was fucked with a 2 grand repair bill on my car because he had no insurance.

I won a judgement againsts him and they garnished his pay. I finally got all my money back half a year later. The whole process was a massive pain in the ass and I never want to deal with anything like it again.
