The 5 Stages of Grief with TopHats

In recent months, I've noticed a certain trend amongst my opponents in various world games in which I took part in. It seems that these people go through the classic "five stages of grief". The list goes as many of you might already know:

1. Denial
2. Anger
3. Bargaining
4. Depression
5. Acceptance

Denial:

player1: "Don't worry we can beat tophats, let's all ally against him"

meanwhile I have all of Asia.

player2: "I agree"
player3: "ok"
player4: "......"
player5: "Let's do this!"

player1 and player2 are now allies
player1 and player3 are now allies
player1 and player4 are now allies
player1 and player5 are now allies
player2 and player3 are now allies
player2 and player4 are now allies
player2 and player5 are now allies
player3 and player4 are now allies
player3 and player5 are now allies
player4 and player5 are now allies

At this stage, considering the wide variety of warfare in a world game, players feel as though all allying against one player like myself will insure them an easy victory. Denying that defeat is even a possibility they compensate upon a grand alliance against me.

Anger:

TopHats begins militia auto production and various forms of stealth assaults.

player1 lost
TopHats is holding player2's capital for (1/2) weeks
player1: "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"
player4: "TopHats you're such an asshole!"
player5: "spamming militia in every city you're so good -_-"

As people begin to lose land, they lose their cool as it becomes more apparent that the battle will be more arduous than they once sought. They express this unrelenting anger with name calls, profanity and slander.

Bargaining:

player3: "can we please ally !!!"
[pr] player4: "I'll give you all my money "
meanwhile I'm making 5k a turn

At this point, opponents come to the realisation that they will lose so they bargain with bribes, deals, private messaging and other forms of negotiation; I've seen it all.

Depression:

player5: "why can't we ally I don't want to lose all my sp."
player4: "TopHats will beat us all its useless, im leaving "
player3: "this game sucks."

player4 surrendered

As depression begins to kick in, people lose hope and declare inferiority. They lose, they weep, they surrender.

Acceptance:

player3: "gg"
player5: "GOOD GAME"

Players accept defeat and move on with their everyday lives. Until I join a new game and the stages of grief re-manifest themselves in the hearts of new players

Seems similar to what happens to learster.

I lol'd. So. Fucking. Hard.

Tophats is a better asshole then the player asshole.

This is strikingly accurate.

lol its not me that has grief its the players against me.

This is mainly lower ranks. Higher ranks like Houdini or himmler or I wouldnt d tis.

You forgot pre turn 1 ally request:

[pr]player1: lets be ally together we can rule the worlds?!

While fighting you,i only felt the anger part,since you DIDN'T ACCEPT THE GIFT I MADE YOU!
