It's been nice all old players... time to make way for the "hundreds of new paying customers" on the way, I enjoyed most of the time I spent here but I can't look at this place the same anymore, possibly because it's not the biologically not same place it was before...

You can't say anything without being a complete enemy of the "staff team"... and these volunteers are ripping the very essence of this game apart, day by day, post by post. it's too damn late to make this wonderful metropolis of bubbling vibrant gameplay with a new player base and an overflow of activity. These players think they can make the Fortnite or Apex legends tier game by just getting rid of the "toxic people"

I've always been outspoken and speaking on things the way they are, popping on once or twice a week to see the old faces slowly disappear and the forums a ghostown of "state of atwar flamewars" or instantly deleted by mods or Brian.. 99.986% PlAYErS dOnT PoSt In ThE FoRuMs... yea ok

You can't have a player base the only activity is senseless political correctness for the sake of just speaking. You can have all the gameplay updates you want but nothing will improve if paying customers are physically getting ostracized by the very "staff" that was chosen to *help* the game.

Kind of a weird buisness model having outspoken volunteers driving away players for the sake of liberalism and a personal sense of altruism and *duty*... don't ya think?

This game is dead if the players are absent. We need to begin the process of rewriting the rules again and to create new checks on how a person can be muted/banned and what can be done to appeal it. We need to cease the endless permabans/permamutes, it's become a mockery when 90% of the active community cannot speak or play, and everyone else was driven off by this blatant use of power.

Technically, everything that has happened is perfectly reasonable going by the current rules; All of the people that are banned and muted have rightfully been done so. But this community isn't large enough to maintain this order of things; Most of our best, most active players are autistic trolls.

Off-Topic should be reserved for shitposting and anything not pertaining to AtWar, everywhere else the rules should be enforced per the status quo until we can re-analyze them and discuss as a community if anything needs changing. Permabans should be reserved only for special cases wherein a player has committed damage to the game or given a credible threat, otherwise the maximum ban time should be six months. To combat pillory and racist behavior, players should be advised to ignore problem individuals, and the ignore function should be revamped to include making quoted posts invisible and any other nonsense that slips through the cracks. Players that have been ignored by someone and are caught using an alt to further harass these players would be automatically banned per their six month record. Offensive shitposting should be allowed provided it does not harbor any sort of threats and is not blatantly racist/homophobic/etc in nature; The latter clause is hard to maintain, it would be better if there was a word filter setting that players could turn off for their viewing pleasure after seeing a warning.

In regards to players being banned for exploits, I still maintain as I told 4nic yesterday that these individuals that find these hacks shouldn't be banned, but rather enlisted in helping find more of them so they can be patched. If they refuse to do so, then you can talk about banning for six months. Whoever keeps DDoSing the site would be subject to a permaban under this idea as well, mind you. No idea if its Bugsbunny, the same dude who did it for years (Death needs friends?) or some other asshat wasting his time and money downing a fucking browser game full of autists, serbs, turks, and felons.

Finally, all players currently permabanned should retroactively be unbanned and put on probation provided the offenses they made do not register as credible threats or did serious damage to the game; Black Swans and Unleashed would be examples of individuals who would be put on probation, Bugsbunny (if he actually did Ddos the game) would be an example of someone who would stay banned. I say this not because Unleashed and Swans are acquaintances of mine, but because each of them contributed to keeping this game rolling when our previous staff couldn't do it, this applies to a lot of individuals.

Perhaps we could have certain players globally ignored by default during probation, meaning you would have to personally un-ignore them to speak with them. Probation could last between a week to three months depending on why they were banned.

Above all else: The first step in reinvigorating this game is pandering to those who have stuck it out this long, not turning them away. I think every individual who likes shitposting can understand the ethical and business reasons behind not wanting them to say dumb shit on the public forum, but I don't think they should be banned for it. I think my above suggestion is more than adequate enough to make everyone happy going forward; Perhaps we can make a locked shitposting forum next to offtopic that can only be accessed by problem individuals or anyone who wants in, since it seems using Discord is unfavorable by many people.

Yeah I agree. Atwar is one of the most lenient games I've seen towards trolls, racists etc. If this were another game, half the playerbase would have already been permabanned by now.

Nothing has really changed, this is the same atwar as has always been. Moderators bullying the community and supporters doing nothing.

It's been a running theme since forever that the game is dying but in reality i think its just you are seeing less familiar faces around each day. If you want to see more competitive players rise then maybe try taking someone under your wing here and there or joining an active team of players. Heck maybe us "old timers" should go more out our way to chat and train newer players or introduce scenario, custom maps and even rp players to the comp scene.

Often the way you go out is just as important as the way you came in and living up to your legacy is an important part of leaving with your head held high.

The moderation has always been overkill on this game, and some of the old players are real elitists/clowns, this game is sort of like Uber where it's not a profitable thing. I think that this game should be modeled on Wikipedia where any player can make adjustments to the game and so we can all fix it faster, and maybe have moderator elections (and impeachment if need be) so the old ones don't get too much power.

The game cannot afford to lose players and if you enjoy the game, you should want people to stick around no matter how 'offensive' you think they are. Your definition of 'offensive' is wildly different to mine. For years we have said everyone has an ignore function. And you haven't played for 835 days, so what does that say about you xD. Anyways I'm simply saying that blatantly racist and insulting posts shouldn't be allowed on Atwar. Removing those sorts of posts improves the game for all players except a small number of trolls. Atwar cannot afford to lose players, but not at the expense of driving new players away. Regardless, any moderation decisions are up to Dave and his mods. If someone wants to play any game, there are certain rules they must abide by. Being a decent person will in most cases not cause any problems. Not sure why some people have gotten triggered by this simple truth, they must love being racist trolls. I'm not calling you one, but there are a few people on this site who troll endlessly and get away with it every time.
