Old TB system as a option?

I see a lot of oldies saying how the old TB system was unique and brought a lot of thinking to AW. So why don't we have it as an option? Tick something
and now cry ''FREKIN' TEBS'' every turn or something.

I don't think I played with the old TB system, and it would be interesting.

Agree it should at least be an option in the game menu

I'd like to have turnblock tested again in a separate server,

...or simply make it a modifiable option.

Rather than have one or another, we should have both

It would be even harder to implement than creating test server.

After Pulse's idea we can try with tb system as an option

I imagine it would be a load of work to do.... also, the amount of bitching by newer generations would be extremely high, I don't think from admins point of view it is worth the hassle. I mean jesu, Knez already complains enough about tbs now!

I saw a video of an old game long before my time....where someone couldn't move there general stack of 20 for like 8 turns.....there would be more complaining than now, And If people think that is more thinking than now, Then....

Attacking the biggest stacks first, while trying to protect your biggest stacks from attacks.



...oh i also forgot "unique".

I wouldnt mind seeing it tested on a separate server or as a classic option, however i already see several flaws with such a system in my head, mainly involving their effect or lack thereof on sm and stealth strats. I also find it interesting that none of the old players who continued playing after the change seem to think it was a better system.

Could be an option. Old TB system certainly wasn't better though, imo it was definitively worse. Goblin basically summed it up.


Then again, I bet half of aw players don't even know how TBs work or even what we are talking about.

I don't know much about how to program, but I imagine that rewriting the code or whatever for turn blocks to go back to 'original' would be a lot of work. As much as I miss it in certain circumstances (defeating gangbangers) I don't think it will greatly improve the game, neither do I think it is needed to move the game forward. Also if new players (including players joined after aug 2012) are not going to play the option then the admins will be doing a lot of work for what? The benefit of 30 or so players? Their time imo will be much better spent implementing some of the good ideas that get overlooked.

If things were done correctly, the admins should have all previous versions of the game, after each update no matter how minuscule, still backed up somewhere.
