Oh yes, it did wonders in Greece! And Russia! And Ukraine! You see here's the difference between me and you: I present a topic for discussion. I respond with some sarcasm as well as some statistics. You respond with saying how people like me should die for progress. You then decide it would be better to simply support socialism because it does wonders without any statistics and without any evidence. You then tell me to stop sucking the dick of big companies when you ride the ass of big unions and the always present "kill the rich" train. You say we live in the 21st century and everyone deserves to have a decent wage. You're right, everyone does deserve to have a decent wage. In fact with education and development of skills, you can get a decent wage. But when you begin to ship those decent wage jobs overseas to China, or Mexico, or any other place where you can find cheap labor, thats when you start having problems. This is not so much a wage issue as it is a job issue. An issue where all the good paying jobs were exported outside the US and we're left with low paying jobs. You say that because of this, we need make those low paying jobs the new high paying jobs. I say we bring back those high paying jobs and leave those entry level jobs to people who want to enter the workforce. But please, turn this from a simple discussion about minimum wage into your "kill the rich" argument. Please make up as much bullshit as possible about me to try and win the "moral" argument. I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to get a decent wage. That opportunity comes from policies that support education and jobs that provide wages. Let's just look at one position,t he drive thru person that takes my order. Skills required::D Ability to type/press buttons Ability to understand English Ability to then take an order Ability to count money All of these skills come from a pre-college level. They require minimal skills and little education. Low skill= low paying. This is what is considered an "entry" level job: a job you take when you just begin entering the workforce. There isn't anything demeaning about it. It is there mainly for youth and young adults who need extra cash. No one in their right mind would think this job is worth a salary of $31,200. Why? Because it's a simple low skilled job. A job worth that much money is one called an EMT. Basically an EMT is the person that saves lives. They ride in the back of an ambulance and use all their ability to protect people and SAVE lives. They require knowledge of medicine, social skills, and training of higher level and quality than you would receive at McDonalds. People who save lives deserve $15 an hour, not the person taking my order. But yes, I should die because I feel people working at McDonalds shouldn't be paid the same as someone saving lives. I should die because I feel we need a country where people can obtain higher paying jobs through hard work in education and through gathering skills from entry level jobs. :wall: How horrible of me, I must be the worst person in the world because I think people should work for their money, not have it handed to them And Clinton? Great choice. She sure did protect our fellow Americans in Benghazi!

Look at all the rich kids crying over minimum wages lol. Phoinix, skitz, virus are you afraid that when you grow up and inherit your fathers rich business you are gonna be forced to pay your employees more? Nice values and morals you got from your families. Spoiled little brats, i hope you loose everything and have to start from the bottom, see how you like it. As for tunder, being a mexican illegal immigrant, in US, i fail to see how you not support this. I m confused
Oh but we do have the moral high ground. You can deny it all you want, but the truth doesnt change if you cry.Your lessez fairy bullshit policies favour only the rich and the corporations. And the increase in minimum wage you obsessively fight, will take millions of hard working americans out of poverty.
How about 64 studies, the review of them found no discernable effect on employment. Additionally, more than 600 economists, seven of them Nobel Prize winners in economics, have signed onto a letter in support of raising the minimum wage. Also, you should know, states have raised the minimum wage 91 times ( so citing only the one who suits your argument is very right wing of you) since 1987 during periods of high unemployment, and in more than half of those instances the unemployment rate actually fell. Federal wage has been increased 22 times since 1938 and real gdp per capita has steadily increased, despite.
A June 2014 survey found that more than 3 out of 5 small business owners supported the increase in the minimum wage to $10.10. They believed it would increase consumer power and at the same time increase productivity of the employees and customer satisfaction. Minimum wage increase is good for the society as a whole. It will take millions out of poverty. They will consume more. It will take people out of food stamps, yes people who WORK in your country cant feed themselves, do you know that spoiled rich brat? This alone will save the government 45 billion, as estimates suggest. It will reduce income inequality and it will hurt more the big greedy corporations who employ thousand of workers for dirt cheap. The workers who actually PRODUCE. Who actually WORK. Not the MOTHERFUCKERS you support who sit on their ass all day, with their expensive suits doing fucking nothing. Like the CEO's of finance, stock and real estate companies who average 15 million per year. Whats more, is that low and medium class is what makes the economy run, they are the consumers. The rich are hoarding their wealth and hurt the economy in every single fucking way they can. And they do it with the protection of right wing supporters like you and the rest of the faggots here, who are against minimum wage increase. Bottom line. This is just a very very very smalle step in the right direction. Government has a long way to go, to even try an create an economy that doesnt only works in favour of the few and the rich.

This, what this? Why is the left full of bullshit? Why supporting other human beings living in poverty is bullshit? What is the logic behind a society, where someone who spends 1 hour making trades in the Stockmarket and hoards his wealth spread in multiple banks, therefore hurting the economy in multiple ways, makes 1000 times more than a worker who actually works for 8 hours, is on the edge of poverty and actually helps the economy by consuming. Is that logic? You are retarded my friend. You are all retarded actually. And you dont know how to debate or argue. You repeat 2 lines like parrots and think that is debating? Do you think that " Buhu why should the rich be penalised. Why should the rich pay more taxes. Why should the rich give up 0,01 of their wealth so other hard working people and their families can actually feed themselves in the 21st century" Yeah brilliant logic, 10/10 argument. Well, Greece have main party that is SOCIALISTIC oriented with anti-capitalism, next to them they have 4 leading parties that follows same ideology. Now with this information i wouldn't say that they have never been socialist. Also during WWII they had big communist parties, that got stronger after the war with help of UK. Communist in Greece was only one that could help SOE (British intelligence organisation) vs Germans. Also i think SOE was shut down after WWII because of that by MI6 (SIS) their main rivals.

well, 22 out of 50 that means there still are 28 states in wich some people cant live from what they get paid for working 6 days a week, 10 hours a day. if there was nobody working in the drive trough, cleaning the streets or driving taxi, your streets would be dirty, you could never get a burger and would actually have to cook for yourself and you'll have to walk to the airport. these people who work for less than what they need to live without having to bag charity for money are required for society to work. And now you belive because they dont have qualification they shouldnt be able to live from working 10 hours a day, 6 days a week, 50 weeks a year for you and your living standard. i never said that there has to be a 15$/h minimum wage in the entire us, i'm saying that everyone should be able to live from their jobs. what would work for example is something like this: minimum wage= income required for subsistence + 100$ per month wich would be more in new york and less in north dakota. 28 states shouldnt have people starving.

This party has been on power for only 6 months now. We barely have seen it and its policies on action, so we cant yet judge. Moreso, its anti-capitalism is more as in capitalism reform than abolition of capitalism. In theory it is socialistic, wether thats true or not is yet to be seen. As for the 4 leading parties, where do you get your information? Thats certainly not true. 2nd party. NEA DIMOKRATIA - conservative - right wing 3rd party. GOLDEN DAWN - fascist 4th party. POTAMI - centre - pro corruption pro european pro capitalism 5th party. KKE - communism 6th party. PASOK - in theory left-centre with social democratic elements - in practice: centre right pro european pro corruption pro unregulated capitalism
Well this information was proven wrong, so your conclusion is wrong aswell. Ill give you new information though. Supposedly PASOK, a USA puppet political party was founded as a social democrat party. It was founded with USA money though, so that notion was a joke from the start. If you take a look at this parties policies, which ruled Greece for decades, you will see they are not even close to being socialist, the opposite maybe. This so called "socialist" party, sinked all the Greek corporations through policies and brought foreign, sinked the agricultural sector with restrictions, invested shit in technology, spent shit in infastructure, health and education, taxed the poor whilemade it easier for the rich to hide their money and evade taxation, creating a whole culture of thievery and tax evasion, left big businesses free of restrictive regulations and took enormous amount of money in loans that werent needed and money that was leaving the country as soon as they were taken. Doesnt sound very socialist to me/ Greece was never socialist. And i dare anyone to prove it to me.
Communists actually liberated Greece. They are the ones that freed Greece from the axis. But they got betrayed by the allies. After ww2, Uk and Us supported the right wingers and nazi collaborators against the communists, its was one of the first signs of the impending cold war. Communism was exterminated in Greece with the help of Us and Uk, i dont know what are you talking about. I am not communist btw.

Do you understand english or should i translate in Serbian? I said they very much are socialist, at least in theory. But the guy i responded to, said Greece failed because it was socialist. Do you mean to tell me that a 6 month pro-socialist government is the reason for Greece crisis and failure? Or do you mean to tell me that just by having a 2015 elected, 6 months on power, pro socialist government, suddenly makes for a socialist country?
So what?Who cares about british agencies and why you drag them into this topic? I used historical information to prove that communism fell immediately in Greece, after serving its purpose, which was to liberate Greece from the axis. Uk and Us helped destroy communism and thats all there is to it. Whats your point?
Yes you can see what they "claim" to represent. They are political parties made by politicians, all they do is claim things that have no connection to reality. Pasok may claimed to be socialist ( social-democrat to be precise), but it is judged and DEFINED by its actions and its policies. We have extensive evidence, 40 years old and we can tell if its socialist or not by its ACTIONS. Golden dawn also claims to be an inoccent, patriotic, democratic moovement, but we have EVIDENCE that they are a dangerous naziist party. Are you gonna take Golden dawn on their word or look at the evidence and historical infromation and decide for yourself. Also, i dont know if you noticed, but the link you provided very much agrees with what i said. It serves my point actually. So i will ask again, going through the link YOU posted, where do you see 4 leading political parties sharing the same ideology as SYRIZA? p.s. you know that right wing independent greeks are in a coalition government with Syriza right?

Look, you know that there's a difference between communism and socialism, right? because even though they were almost the same during the cold war, they are two very different things now.( but it's all the same for you Americans, you straight up don't care) You talk about Greece but you ain't know shit about it, The Greeks have been having financial trouble even before they joined the EU, in fact, they still complain that the Germans own them WWII debts, the Greeks fucked themselves, socialism has nothing to do with it. Ireland, Portugal and Spain on the other hand, did what the EU told them to do and applied austerity measures which worked even better than expected (at least here in Portugal). And you really want to talk about Russia and Ukraine? They are as much socialist as you are. Honestly, if you can't understand the difference between Europe and Russia then I can't understand the difference between an American and a redneck. WTF is wrong with you guys, you want the EU to collapse, you want to have a shitty minimum wage because ''poor people deserve to be poor''. Yeah sure, you know what, you guys actually sound like pretty chill and nice people, you are right, healthcare systems are the true evil, we should not pay taxes to help people that have no money to afford a doctor, no, we should pay taxes to go war Iraq to get oil...I mean, plant the ''seeds of democracy'' and we should totally close our borders, because the ''true land of the free'' does not accept immigrants and spies on its own citizens. God bless America, once again they save the day, go ahead, keep on building drones and shooting innocent black people down, you are doing it well "There is only one good, knowledge, and one evil, ignorance." -Socrates

Yes, I am soooooooo rich. That's why I use to live in the slums of philly until I moved out. You got me there guys! I'm an evil capitalist who just loves loves LOVES laissez fair! Who needs government intervention into the economy anyway? It worked in Russia during the '90's! And yes, because I am soooo rich and sooooo afraid to work (even though I work weekends and then everyday during the summer doing yard work as well as working at a restaurant) that is why I don't want minimum wage! Because my father's fake business that he doesn't have that I will inherit would mean I would have to increase wages for all the "employees" I have D= This is why it's laughable whenever I read your responses. You act like anyone who disagrees with you is either an anarchist or someone who is richer than carnegie and must be killed. I'd take you more seriously and would waste more of my time responding to your half ass comments if I didn't have to explain to you that not everyone in the Republican Party is rich (although Greece, you know, part of the socialist paradise 2.0 would say everyone is rich in love so..). If people decided to elect candidates in a state who supported raising the minimum wage and then those candidates raised the minimum wage liek they did in California, than good for them. But when people also elect candidates who don't support raising the minimum wage- and then a government far away in DC says they have to, well now that is unfair. If you're impoverished, you get welfare. If you need a high paying job, you should be bale to get there by working hard and developing skills, not by placing in an application for McDonalds. Sorry if I don't think people living in the wealthiest nation in history should only have McDonald's as their only future prospects. I also think anyone on welfare should be actively searching for a job. If they cannot find one, then the welfare office will be able to search for a job within a certain radius. If a job is found and the person on welfare refuses to get a job, they get cut. As for further help, I support a single payer healthcare system and, if the money is found, would be okay with child support. Daycare cost a grand a month, that's more than half the income (of a month) of some people working. But again, I;m an evil capitalist rich pig who doesn't do anything with his life and will inherit the imaginary trillion dollar company run by my father with 17 billion employees from Earth to Mars with a new one being constructed on one of Saturns moons. You should come check it out!

Well for starters, true communism calls or a stateless society. Soviet Russia was anything but stateless. In fact, it was more heavily socialist where the government controlled virtually every major industry. The government was stilled elected but the plan was for the union of soviet SOCIALIST republics to achieve communism and get rid of government. And no one denies the Greeks had financial troubles before they joined the EU- accept the Greek government after they joined who lied about their financial records saying they had a lower outstanding debt than was previously thought. Do I care if the EU collapses or stays the same? Not really, America's not apart of it. What I do know is many Germans who bailed out Greece don't wish to stay in the EU. And hey, if they don't want to remain in a union, then they should be allowed to exit (if it comes to that). Where did I say poor deserve to be poor? Look, if I believed in reincarnation or eugenics, then maybe I would believe that. But turns out I don't (he just said what now???). People who are poor have it rough, no doubt about that. But they also get help from taxpayer money. I would rather see them get a good paying job by working their way in a thriving system, And for the record, taxes weren't raised to fight the war in Iraq. And not a single American company got an oil field in Iraq. But you're right, we are soo evil. I seem to remember it was AMerican planes that stopped the genocide in the Balkans. Your EU friends just sat around, talked diplomacy (if it can even be called that) and just allowed people to be slaughtered. But you're right, I am an evil capitalist swine who deserves to die. You're not some Robin Hood. Don't confuse yourself with fantasy tales.

If daddy pays them more than 10 then he won't make much of a profit. Its simple, you don't like how much you are pay? Go find another job. Nobody wants to work? Increase the wage. And no, daddy is not rich, just an average person. I personally support the $15/hr minimum wage, now that I've taken a trip to western Europe. At first, my opinion was that people should be grateful for a lenient $7.15 per hour. Not now. I haven't seen much of the US, but I assume things are kinda similar to Western Europe, which I have visited. Unlike in my home country, in the Netherlands, (and I'm guessing in the United States also) you can't do anything on $57.20 a day. Pay the grocery bills, buy bus tickets to get places and get a one-room lodge. That's most of the money right there. It's an inhumane standard of living.

Minimum wage isn't meant to support a family. It is for entry level jobs when one first enters the work force. It's meant for teenagers with their first job and people with minimal skills. If you want to support yourself or your family, you get an education to get actual skills and get an actual job that pays more than minimum wage. Plus, doubling it will lead to massive lay offs and small businesses to start failing as they can't afford to have any more workers.

You dont want to convince anyone using arguments and data, instead you just want to impose your opinion. On topic, Social democracy is a variant of socialism. By many it is actually the pipeline that will allow for a steady and slow transition from our system to full socialism. Scandinavian countries are social democratic. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialism https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_democracy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordic_model As for being in decline, that sounds like Tik tok words you are repeating. Nordic countries are prospering and still score top in every statistic. Can you prove your claim, or nah you just letting words out of your mouth cause they are free?
