I'm a bit new to this game, just a few questions: 1) What are the main differences and uses for Infantry and Militia? Militia is cheaper and slower, but does it have better defense? Is it a waste to bulk up my capital with Infantry? If Militia is better at city defending, then what's the entire point of Infantry? Poor attack, good defense, slower than tanks...Why not just use Militia and Tanks? 2) Sometimes when I capture a city, I'm given an unusually high number of militia that takes up space, and are too slow to send anywhere useful. Do people usually leave them or move them out of the capital nearby? 3) What's the main benefit to making a wall of ground units as defense? I realize it means the enemy has to make an attack to break the link first, but most games I see it's not a very stacked wall and only stops the enemy by one turn...is this vital? Why not just put them in the capital to defend? 4)What determines how many "resources" a particular city can give out? Are these values set, or do they change to circumstance. For example, I notice if I have a city that usually gives me 7, if I have 4 units in that capital (any type) then I'll only have 3 units to buy. How does that work? 5) I notice when I take two tank divisions and combine them, I'm given some infantry? Why? 6) Is the Air Support Capacity really that great of an upgrade? Going from 3 to 4? I can imagine if I'm rich in the game and I have MANY planes filled with units, then that difference adds up. But if I'm rich enough to afford dozens of those $600 planes, does it really matter if I save the number of planes I need to transport "x" amount of troops? Thank you. Please don't use 2 letter abbreviations I see all of this forum. I don't know what they mean!

1. Infantry is much more mobile and with PD is very, very powerful at defending as well as quite cheap, this uses up medium reinforcments for the same cost. Militia has best value without any strats but are too immobile and is only generally used with walls, I however try to use up all of mine along coasts I can easily move them with transports, otherwise further inland ones are stuck there. With GW it is probably the most powerful strat for unlimited reinforcements but it require upgrades to make best use of it. 2. Answered in 1, otherwise they will cost money per turn 3. You underestimate how essential walling is, play with triangle walls you will see. 4. They are the same as the amount of militia/inf the neutral city starts of with at the beginning, they can be changed by battle and time though: Each turn income goes up by 2% after 100%, 25% before 100% and population by 1%. Battles vary in how much they affect it, against neutrals it usually decreases it to 50% and sometimes 25% more or less. Against players it can population and income bomb the city really hard, depending on how many units fought and their collateral. 5. No idea what you are talking about. 6. Yes, for strats not focused on range especially, they require that range to keep up with other strats like SM(sky menace) and blitz, RA tanks (relentless attack) gain the most out of this as they are the highest attacking units.

The concept of moving your militia is very important never underestimate that.

1. Infantry are superior to militia with some exceptions, such as GW (guerilla warfare) which is the only time militia is superior to infantry. Other then that infantry defend better and are more mobile. 2. Generally use your militia to wall and just keep the rest there is what I do. 3. Walling is very important. You should wall all your important cities and more if you have time. 4. In a nutshell what stick is trying to say here is that all cities have a set value based on real life statistics, these numbers do change as he mentioned. The population and income rise slowly over time but fighting over the city lowers the income and population (population casualties). Sometimes you can completely destroy a city and make it worthless by fighting over it constantly or bombing it to hell. 5. What stick said. 6. I think it is a good upgrade. Those planes are expensive and with that upgrade you can make the most of them. I find it useful.

For the resources, look on the finances tab on the top of the page, marked with a piece of money.

19.11.2013 - 13:49 Infantry are overall better choice to defend, and attack than militia's. Actually when you unlock "faster infantry" upgrade, infantry range will match the tank. militia is inferior to infantry in every espect, however militia cost less, the only time militia preferable than infantry is when you play with "Gurrilla Warfare"strategy. I usually use every unit I have! in some cases leaving them to be in their city is also useful
Aside of assuring the city will not fall to enemy hands in their suprize attack, it also let you know if it's going to be attacked, you can then act according to your strategy.
Every city have amount of troops according to their real life population, minimum allowed population in the game is 100,00 which give 1 unit.
You probably dragged the infantry along the stack of tanks, if you hover on the units stack you will see what kind of units you have, by clicking on the unit image you want, it will move without additional troops.
It's useful for quick expanaion at the beginning as you can load more troops and conquer much faster! Also there is another "transport capacity" upgrade:)

Okay thanks a lot guys. Another quick question: I was playing a game and noticed a player was able to attack my capital without my knowledge. All I could see were several subs that had attacked a port city and dozens of tank attack my capital. Can subs transport? Or provide stealth to transports? Etc?

Sub can only transport marines which are stealth units, so I guess you were attacked by marines, and not by tanks. To avoid of such a suprise attack build up a defensive wall for your important cities. It will buy you an extra turn.
