Socialist policies led to overspending on welfare and pension programs as well as other social programs initiated by a socialist government who ran out of other people's money and is now asking for more money because it refuses to cut down on socialist spending.

Hmm, interesting. Apparently US propaganda machine managed to control the masses through same weapon - 'socialism is bad, mkay' without giving explanation(again like in cold war). That outdated policies can have serious consequences on long terms if US dont reform and provide fresh informations to its society.

Greece fought civil war to NOT become socialist country, and they won. Then Greece had Junta for 7 years led by 5 nationalist anti-communist colonels. Then they had capitalist economic miracle in the 80s, then tourism explosion in the 90s which brought billions of $$$. There is no 's' of socialism in Greece.

Greek problem is that they didnt pay taxes for 20 years, probably greed, they pay 90% less taxes then they should have, thus government had less money to spend on running the state. Problem intesified when European Union (led by Germany in that proposal) offered money to Greek government to spend on running the state with condition to give it back sometime in the future which is not the problem because they had very strong profitable economy.
Then suddenly Germany, without notification, by surprise asks all money to be payed immediately, which Greece couldnt do obviously because in question are billions, not millions. Germany replied by freezing all Greek assets in Europe ($800 billion), Greeks panicked and withdraw their remaining money from banks so banks had to close down business since no more money to operate after they payed all greeks. Thus Greek financials are destroyed in only one night in 2011, second target was Greek economy, which was still strong and need time to collapse. Of course they couldnt use sanctions on Greece because no pretext, Greece didnt invade anyone or has oil. So they downgraded Greek investment rates, discouraged European companies to do business in Greece and literally pushed Greece into Russian arms and anti-european sentiment.

Greece was tricked. Because they wanted to pursue independence and wanted to debate about EU policies in Brussels. Apparently EU doesnt debate or have voice and opinions, only dictate. European Union tricked European states into creating that union so it can bind them all, just like Soviet Union did to Russian people.

It seems every Eastern European country, or maybe every country on this planet which have problem or will have crisis in the future will be accused of socialism by the west. But truth is socialism, like capitalism have its failed and success states, USSR fall, but China rise. In the other hand US is falling, but Germany rising in capitalist world.

I dont see whats bad about a socialist, he isnt controlled by companies and he actually does vote by moral standards that are perfectly fine. whats bad about regulating companies that try to control the state? just dont let them!

also, kennedy got shot i dont really know much about his political achivements but wikipedia doesnt say much about it anyways. Also, i belive one man did try to oppose (at least a little bit) the companies, by setting maximum income tax from 31% to 39%, bill clinton.

Ideally, a socialist state would include a balanced government budget.

Unfortunately, people have a tendency to ask for more things, then ask for even more things when they got what they wanted. In a democracy...

But then again, capitalist states like the US have the same problem, so I cannot really say that this is a problem unique to socialist democracies.

All in all, from my non-US perspective, a Sanders vote looks like a solid bet.

China's politic is led by one party of 80 million members. Membership is free for all who hold Chinese citizenship. People are not allowed to create parties, and there are no elections, but ruling party have inner elections where they choose governors, ministers, the president, prime minister and other officials. So, to get a vote, you have to join the party, everything else is the same like democracy.

But Chinese economy is 100% free, every citizen and foreigner can work and invest in China, produce anything and everything, sell in China and abroad. The only difference is that Chinese government participate more in economy than Western counterparts because thats boosting competition and growth. For example Chinese government use money from taxes to invest in infrastructure, healthcare, banks, give loans and it gain profit from that. Thus competing with private banks, private health insurances, private infrastructure contractors which of course boost quality, rise wages and maintain reasonable prices.

80% of Chinese support this Chinese style of Socialism, because many dont care for politics and only want freedom to work what they want, where they want. They believe multiparty system(democracy) wont change their lives and standard of living(which is already rising, so if they risk to change it, they might fail like USSR during perestroika). And they have examples of Western World democracies with demonstrations, police brutality, gay laws, financial crisis, so compared to that, China is pretty peaceful and harmonious place to live, according to them/ for them.

Different countries need different systems of government to match their different cultures. Socialism won't work in AMerica because we simply do not want it. We prefer to have lower taxes and less government to buy the things we want, to get the things we need over having higher taxes, losing more of our hard earned money to fund a government we know does not do well with budgeting.

The elections are a fraud. Look at what happened in Tiananmen square when students wanted more democracy to choose their future (an event the current regime denies happened). They have "re-education" camps for political dissidents. They restrict access to most social media programs, they restrict access to Google. Hell, they don't even let their people know the events going on in Hong Kong. That's not free, that's not fair, that's autocracy.
