Why wall? Defense lines block enemy movement, and with this setup he has to destroy the defense lines before being able to attack your city.

Allies can send each other money, see each other troops, share cities (by taking all of your troops, including militia, out of the city and letting your ally cap it) and see stealth units they detected. Players in peace treaties cannot attack each other and can send money.

OMG I'm in a gift guide, life complete.

Notes on the sea wall- you probably don't want to leave a lot of units in sea as they'll have 0 defence in the sea, and the walls can be made longer, they will still join up, in fact they will join up more consistently I find.
