Damage Roll Formula

Hello,
I recall having read a forum post or two where Dave posted the damage roll formula in a comment, but have been unable to find them. I wanted to use the formula as an excuse to review statistics.
It's slightly more complicated than one may expect. I recall that it slightly favors larger stacks.

Does anyone know where I can find the formula?
