Naval Commander Nigerian Rush

I was experimenting and found that a NC Nigerian rush is extremely powerful on 25k and 50k maps. You are able to conquer Africa in 15 turns and make a landing in South America on turn 5. Any other interesting suggestions for NC rushes?

Indeed nc is powerful strategy.But not as powerful as PD or Blitz when you do not have enemy close by

Yes, but for early expansion into South America and Europe as a Sub-Saharan country, you can quickly gain power and hold onto it when you play NC Nigeria.

15 turns conquering the whole africa is not a viable tactic

With expansion into South America aswell, I would rate it highly as You are able to became a coastal cap sniper, and take out anyone with a coastal so or a cap within a infantry move distance from the coast.

You are assuming that those players in there are very weak because of war or they at the time will still be warring agianst someone... If you are facing a GOOD player in Eu you will surely lost with him if he is not distrated because he will surely have a better income. With the income you have in Africa I can counter You with an PD player with only france spain italy and maybe egypt as territoy

If u want a good NC spot aside from the ussual countries like china, france, etc. You might consider Indonesia.... You will probably have no enemy south and you will have Austria around turn 10 and when your fighting in china... you can effectively use ur destroyers to get SK,Taiwan and the two near coastal china. With Nk you can do it with ease even if there's a players against you there except only if the players is Using PD

It's not bad but in World Games... People tend to ally everyone near them... That ussualy left you with maybe 1 ally and you'll be against 2 in Eu

That first turn is good when you are all spread out but I have found that It is better to wait a turn on the Cameroon conquest and instead wall every Nigerian city. I usually ally the north American player and the china player, both can help against your main enemies, Europe and India.

Also you can take over fernando po with the destroyers

If you have no other African Player there's no need to wall 1st turn.... Just send 3 inf next turn to wall ur cap the other two wall it turn 5

Cant you expand a lot faster with destroyers? with 25k

if you are the last pick in a 20 player world game and everywhere else is crowded too much.

Ironically. this is related to an earlier comment. Sometimes players pick africa for ♥ of the game.

NC Nigeria is a terrible idea judging by the slow expansion compared to a BK or SM. Europe would have destroyed Africa by turn 15. Plus any force in Europe would most likely invade inland rendering those ships only good for transferring troops. But there is another issue with trying to stack in for defense- money. The best way to survive with no money is militia but NC militia could not stand up to hi-tech bombers and conventional warfare. The one good thing about NC Nigeria is as you said taking Brazil and having a secure coast. The main reason why taking over Africa is not a great idea is the lack of money rewards and basically a way of over-extending your empire. I suggest to employ a BK method.

I tried BK Nigeria and here is my turn 1 expansion without extra cities:


I captured full Africa in 7 turns with one turn wasted with BK Nigeria:


So BK Nigeria is effective but costly for rapid expanding and the militia attacks are worth it. In the face of BK, NC doesn't have enough expansion power but NC would be quite effective ferrying troops around and harassing transports.

U guys are good, but i think DR congo is better for capturing africa, south america, AND australia.
